I just wanted to take a moment to write my health story. I am currently 46 years and since 1998 suffered with major back problems taking multiple pain medications. My first back surgery was in August of 1998 having a laminectomy. I initially felt relief unfortunately, due to scar tissue build up, the pain intensified 2 weeks later. Pain medications were the only way I was able to feel relief. My doctor initially prescribed vicodin, oxcycotin then fentanyl patches gradually increasing the dosage to the point I was also prescribed Ritalin to keep my mind alert enough to continue my job working as a Manager for a large company. After taking Fetanyl for 13 months I agreed to a L-5, S-1 Fusion. This provided some relief but I continued to have a problem with pain. I suffered through the worst pain of all coming off the addiction to fetanyl. I then was prescribed Vicoden for the next 5 years developing and addiction this medication. In 2007 I agreed to a 3rd Back Surgery and a 4th L-4, L-5 Fusion in 2008 continuing on a pain medication called tramadol. I was taking between 8-9 pills a day for a total of between 56-63 pills a week. If you calculate the total per year this is an unbelievable amount of possibly 3,276 pills a year. I realized most likely the long term use of pain meds was going to cause long term health problems and most likely death at an early age. My pain was not going away nor was my continued need for pain medications. I decided no more surgeries and that I would give chiropractic care a try. I really didn’t believe after all I had suffered that such a non invasive care would help me, but I was at a point in which I was willing to try anything to not go through another surgery. I started going to Dr. Braddock in February of 2010 continuing to take between 56-63 pain pills a week. I also started taking a nutritional supplement. As of this week (1st week of May 2010) I am completely off pain medications for the first time in over 12 years. I’m not stating that I’m 100% pain free 100% of the time, but the significance of not taking any pain medications at all is huge! I plan on continuing my treatments with Dr. Braddock. I am confident I will never have to take any pain medications for my chronic back problem ever again.

I would be glad to refer Dr. Braddock to anyone suffering with any back problems. I know without a doubt he has made a huge difference in my life. If anyone wishes to speak to me, Dr. Braddock has my permission to give my name and number for anyone to call me on an individual basis.

Dr. Braddock Explains What Everyone Should Know About F.H.P

It is important that the position of the cervical spine allows your head to sit back atop your shoulders. Unfortunately, the effects of gravity, poor posture, the weight of the head, or past trauma can cause neck and skull misplacement, leading to a condition called Forward-head syndrome. The head forward posture along with the loss of the normal cervical curve will lead to pathological (disease-causing) tension on the spinal cord and brainstem.
In the book Rejuvenation Strategy, Dr. Rene Cailliet, director of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Southern California, wrote this description of the deadly forward-head syndrome as well as humpback syndrome:
1. Incorrect head position leads to improper spinal function. It is a major form of subluxation or misalignment of the spine.
2. The head in forward posture can add up to 30 pounds of abnormal leverage on cervical spine.
3. Forward head posture results in loss of vital capacity. Lung Capacity is reduced as much as 30 percent. Loss of lung capacity leads to heart and blood vascular problems. (Bring your chin to your chest and try to take a deep breathe…you can not do it efficiently)
4. The entire gastrointestinal system is affected, particularly the large intestine. Loss of good bowel peristaltic function and evacuation is common to forward head posture and loss of spinal curve.
5. Forward head posture causes an increase in discomfort and pain. Freedom of motion in the first four cervical vertebrae is a major source of stimuli that causes production of endorphins. As a result of this loss of endorphins (hormones that reduce pain and affect emotions), many otherwise non-painful sensations are experienced as pain.
6. Forward head posture cause loss of healthy spine-body motion. The entire body becomes rigid as the range of motion becomes diminished; the person’s body becomes hunched.
7. Associated with humpback syndrome or “hyperkyphotic posture” was found in Oct. 2004 study published in the Journal of American Geriatrics Society to significantly increase the likelihood of DEATH. Studies at Cornell and John Hopkins found kyphosis to both increase the chance of uterine prolapse and decrease physical function and mobility respectively.
8. Loss of cervical curve and head forward posture will lead to decrease functioning of the thyroid gland. Cervical nerve roots C3-C7 supply the thyroid gland and allows it to function optimal. Loss of cervical curve and head forward posture will lead to decreased metabolism, fatigue, and reduction of thyroid activity.

A common problem in modern day America is the acceptance of responsibility. All too often people shift the responsibility of their children, jobs, safety, etc. to others and inevitably feel that they have been let down. With the United States ranking in at a dismal 38^th in health as stated by the World Health Organization, the number of sick and dying Americans continues to climb. It is time for us as a society to accept responsibility for our health and be proper stewards of our bodies. God made the human body a self-healing, self-regulating organism capable of maintaining health when not interfered with. The innate intelligence of the human body is far superior to the knowledge of any doctor, and the potency of any drug. However when afflicted with any condition the first thing people do is try to take a drug to make it go away like a child pushing all their dirty clothes under their bed so they could at least go play today. We now have a population of elderly people who are completely dependant of prescription medications and who often have to choose between pills or meals. As a society we scoff at illegal drug use and pity those who are dependant of it, yet at the first sign of a cough we feed our children a myriad of medicine. To perpetuate this problem we teach our children that for each problem there is a drug. Cough syrup for a cough, aspirin for a headache, spray for a stuffy nose, and if they are too energetic… well there is something for that too. Yet when our children become depressed or bored and experiment with illegal drugs we just can understand why!!! Let’s start by taking a little responsibility for our own health and the health of our families.

Start asking WHY? Why am I sick? Is it a lack of drugs? Is there something that has prevented my body from defending its self?

As a chiropractor I deal with the nervous system (your brain, spinal cord, and nerves) which regulate every cell, organ, and tissue of your body. A misalignment in your spine, known as a subluxation, can prevent proper communication between your brain and the rest of your body. A communication that is absolutely essential for optimal health. Sasha & Malia Will Not Receive the Swine Flu Vaccine

According to White House Press Secretary, Robert Gibbs, Obama's Daughters will not receive the vaccine based on their profile. Apparently, according to him, only children with an impaired immune system are supposed to take the vaccine. But, I don't think that is not what the media has been reporting at all. In fact, when my grandchildren went to get the "mist", the only thing the doctor asked about was any allergies. They are perfectly healthy kids.

It gets stranger all the time, as this is supposed to be a level 6 pandemic, not a virus that only attacks susceptible children. According to WHO, "Almost half of the reported cases of oseltamivir resistant virus have occured in patients taking oseltamivir for prophylaxis. While the significance of this observation is not yet clear, prophylaxis should only be offered where there are strong reasons for doing so..in general, WHO does not recommend the use of antiviral drugs for prophylactic purposes. For people who have had exposure to an infected person and are at a higher risk of developing severe or complicated illness, an alternative option is close monitoring for symptoms, followed by prompt early antiviral treatment should symptoms develop.

Why do I keep hearing doctors on Cable News, including Fox, recommending that children receive a flu shot for prevention. Am I missing something here? In fact, I went to the official site of the Secretary of Human Health Services, and that was the first thing I saw: the importance of getting your flu shot. Every time I drive by Walgreens, there it is a sign "Get your flu shot."

Many of you may have heard of Jane Burgemeister, an Austrian journalist, who claims that the H1N1 vaccine is an attempt by the World Elite to reduce the population. she states on her website :In February 2009, Baxter’s Austrian subsidiary in Orth an der Donau manufactured and distributed 72 kilos of vaccine material, contaminated with a H5N1 (more lethal) virus, to 16 laboratories in four countries... this deadly contamination and distribution was almost certainly due to criminal intent." She has filed injunstion against the Obama Administration and WHO.

Even the Times of India reported that the H5N1 was mixed with H3N2, and the Times went on to say "Accidental release of a mixture of live H5N1 and H3N2 viruses could have resulted in dire consequences. While H5N1 doesn't easily infect people, H3N2 viruses do. If someone exposed to a mixture of the two had been simultaneously infected with both strains, he or she could have served as an incubator for a hybrid virus able to transmit easily to and among people."

Remember the Nuremberg Code for your defense, since there has been a lot of talk about "forced vaccinations": "The voluntary consent of the human subject is absolutely essential. This means that the person involved should have legal capacity to give consent; should be so situated as to be able to exercise free power of choice, without the intervention of any element of force, fraud, deceit, duress, overreaching, or other ulterior form of constraint or coercion; and should have sufficient knowledge and comprehension of the elements of the subject matter involved as to enable him to make an understanding and enlightened decision."

This really has inspired me. The mayor of Oklahoma City has made a proclamation for the city to lose over 1,000,000 lbs. This happened after the city was voted one of the fattest city’s in the country. So far they have lost over 250,000 lbs. If they can do this I have absolute faith we can lose at least 500 lbs.

After the holidays we are going to have a weight loss and fitness challenge for our office. So eat up and get ready to have some fun.
